About HEIC and JPG
Apple introduced HEIC in iOS 11 to roughly halve the storage size of iPhone photos while keeping quality. The trade-off is compatibility: Windows, older Macs, most Android devices, and many websites can't display HEIC. Converting to JPG makes the files universally openable. Most online HEIC converters upload your personal photos — often of family, kids, documents or IDs — to their servers, where they may be logged or retained. Our converter decodes HEIC inside your browser using WebAssembly, so photos never leave your device. We preserve EXIF metadata (date, GPS, camera) so your organised photo library stays organised after conversion.

The questions
Frequently asked
What is HEIC and why can't I open it?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11. It saves space on your iPhone but Windows, Android and many web apps don't support it.
Will I lose quality?
Minimal. We decode the HEIC and re-encode as high-quality JPG (92). Visually there is no difference.
Will EXIF data (date, GPS) be preserved?
Yes. Date taken, camera model and GPS coordinates are carried over to the JPG so your photos remain searchable by date and location.
Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?
Yes. Drop as many as you want and they are converted locally in parallel.
Does it work on Android?
Yes. HEIC files AirDropped or shared from an iPhone can be converted in any Android browser.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser — your photos never leave your phone or computer.
