About · Est. 2026

A file converter
that doesn't upload your files.

FileConverterTools is a free, private file converter that runs entirely inside your browser. The others upload your file. We don't.

What we hold to

Three principles.

Principle 01

Privacy is not a feature.

Every other free file converter uploads your document to their servers. We decided from day one that there would never be a server. Your file physically cannot leave your device because there is nowhere for it to go.

Principle 02

Fast means local.

Server-based converters queue your file behind thousands of others. Our converter runs on the device you are already holding. No upload wait, no queue, no quota.

Principle 03

Honest about limits.

In-browser conversion is powerful, but not magic. We tell you exactly what each converter can and can't do — no overselling, no watermarked output, no bait-and-switch to a paid tier.

Under the hood

How this actually works.

Each converter is a tiny JavaScript or WebAssembly module that runs inside your browser tab. PDF conversions use pdf-lib and pdfjs-dist. Image conversions use the browser's native Canvas API plus heic2any for HEIC. Video → audio uses FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly — yes, the same FFmpeg the pros use, running inside your browser tab.

There is no API we send your file to. There is no cloud bucket. There is no analytics event with your filename in it. There is nothing to leak, log, or lose.

Who built this

Built by one person.

SG
Saroj GTFrontend engineer

Frontend engineer. Built this because every free converter uploads your files, which felt wrong — your contracts and family photos shouldn't need a server round-trip to change format.

Have feedback, a bug report, or a converter you'd like built next? Drop a line — I read every email.
